Welcome to Wednesday at goodoldbeanfarm

Ho hum still a bit slow after a long nites sleep but here we are fingers just a flying over the key board putting out the word from goodoldbeanfarm.

The Fable 2 game is slowly winding down as most of us have about completed all the quests and gathered all the gold. Too bad it ain’t that easy in the real world ha ha.

Yesterday I went and bought a new game called Fallout 3 it is all about being the hero in a world after the nuclear destruction has about wiped it out . Should be interesting though I hope it is not a preview of what is to come.

The turkeys are eating hearty and the blue jays and doves come in droves to feed on the corn.Yesterday a tufted titmouse was seen at the feeders.

Adult Perhaps the coming cold weather will bring a wider variety to the feeders. Although we are content with the visitors we now have it is always nice to see a different face once in a while. As my mother used to say.

Well I have some reading to do as I prepare to tackle this new game so I will leave you with this little quote for the day….

We do not stop playing because we grow old.
We grow old because we stop playing

That said enjoy your day and don’t forget to stop and play along the way and above all come on back tomorrow to visit us here on goodoldbeanfarm.

Do turkeys have Thanksgiving

I say they probably do but I don't think  they roast a person they just come to the goodoldbeanfeedingstation and feed up on some yummy corn and sunflower seeds. And as a way of offering thanks they put on a turkey show for us outside thegoodoldbeankitchenwindows.

This morning they came in several groups until there were twenty two of them milling around the feeders dashing back and forth to try and get the best spot to load up on corn for the day. They would jump and fly up and just run around like wild turkeys which is I suppose only right for they are that.

We still have not seen any squirrels or chipmunks for a long time and we wonder where they went they used to always be several of them running round here at any time of day but now there are none.

Although they are pest sometimes we miss their antics since they are not around. There are plenty of Blue Jays though and for quite a spell they were not to be seen at the feeders so perhaps the squirrels will return as well.

Grandson Charlie was here to visit yesterday and that was nice he has been away on study for quite a while but now that he has finished with that he came by to see us and that was nice.

Seems he will remain in Maine and be residing in or around Bangor so he will hopefully be here again for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is always nice to have family together on the holidays.

Not much else of note happening round here just now so here is your little quote for today…..

Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!

Amanda Bradley quotes

Embrace the Holiday season and be well and remember you are welcome to come on back to the goodoldbeans any old time and share a tale or two of just what it is all about here on goodoldbeanfarm.

And on the seventh day he rested

And so can you rest your eyes from this task of blog reading on a Sunny Sunday. Grab a cup of tea or coffee (your choice) and just relax that's what I am gonna do.

So here is our little quote for today before you leave………..

I Like this quote I dislike this quoteRest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time

John Lubbock quotes

However you may still as always come on back tomorrow for more goodoldbeanbloggin……………………………

Back from the Pits

Yep I been in the pits the last few days first my computer started acting up and then winter struck beanfarm.

snow birds 001

But that didn’t stop the turkeys from having breakfast at the goodoldbeanfeedingstation.

snow birds 002 These are a few of the pictures I snapped through the windows.

snow birds 003 They came up what we call the turkey trail through the snow and out of the tall grass I think there were seven in this group. They were later followed by a larger group and on and on it went through the day, Lots of fun to watch out the window and that was good for I was not about to set foot out in the snow.

The first snow is always pretty and this was although I was happy to see it melted before days end. It was near this time that my computer started acting up and it required a visit from the Computer Mechanic ( son Bob) who came this weekend and soon had the issue resolved. Cause is still unknown but was probably something I did wrong.

Any way that is all behind us now and we are back on line with a new operating system Windows 7 which is looking pretty good .

So how about a little quote for today to fill things out here………….

I Like this quote I dislike this quoteJust think how happy you would be if you lost everything you have right now, and then got it back again.

Frances Rodman quotes

Probably just as happy as me now the snow is gone and my PC is fixed and I am back abloggin.

I will be back tomorrow with more interesting and wondrous tales from goodoldbeanfarm so come on back and check us out.

Moon Rise on Beanfarm

Moon rise on beanfarm is always a pleasant sight to see.as is the sun rise.

005

When the moon is full it is cool to see rising slowly above the trees.

006 As the sky darkens from the sunset it is slowly relit by the rising moon.

007 Minute by minute the scene changes

008

.

008 And the surrounding woods get darker

009 until all you see is that big yellow globe floating in the sky

010 And now for the little quote for today……………

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”

Buddha quote

More to come tomorrow when my PC is hopefully working right so come on back and check in………

Fall Back I will catch you

Here we are Fall in Maine and I have fallen back in time and so this morning I got up before I thought I did or something.Any way we are on the new time and so we have gained an hour but tonight it will be dark earlier by an hour so what have we gained. Would this mean one would have to wait an hour longer for the bus but I guess that don’t matter cause I don’t take the bus any way.

asstd pics 021 The sun was just coming up as I stepped out to check the day and that was nice to see so I snapped off a few pictures for you here is another one or two.

asstd pics 019

asstd pics 024

Get’s kinda bright don’t it. And I got a video for you too that I made last night as the moon was rising I will put it in here as soon as it has uploaded to you tube.

Sun rise and moon rise are always nice things to get pictures of you can kinda freeze a moment in time and save it for another day if you know what I mean. Or you can put it in your blog.

You tube is rather slow this morning maybe I should have started in that hour I saved today.

asstd pics 023 The outside walls were frost covered and the shadows casted by the sun were crisp and I guess that means we will have a nice day or something cause most every thing means something .

And there is our little video for today now lets consider this little quote for the day………….

I Like this quote I dislike this quote"Careful with fire," is good advice, we know:
"Careful with words," is ten times doubly so.
Thoughts unexpressed may sometimes fall back dead;
But God himself can't kill them when they're said.

Will Carleton quotes

There that’s kinda about falling back at least I didn’t fall back asleep waitin for that video to upload but as I always say you can always fall back on thegoodoldbean to have a little blog for you tomorrow so come on back if you wish.

Ain’t no sunshine

But it is a rather pleasant day here on goodoldbeanfarm. The birds are singing and the turkeys are getting fatter by the day. But we ain’t gonna eat them they will need the fat to survive the cold winter months ahead. We have a turkey in the fridge thawing out perhaps it is a cousin to the ones eating at the goodoldbeanfeedingstation and he or it will be dinner perhaps Sunday or Monday.

002 We had the bottom of our home opened this week and a good load of fiberglass insulation was blown in to insulate the floors and next came the roof to get insulated with more fiberglass insulation .

The job was done by Arthur and Sandy a nice couple who have a insulating company in Augusta.

003

A real nice couple who work well together and do a real bang up job of sealing up Maine homes for the winter. When they are finished with our home we should be snug as bugs in a rug. Like my grandmother used to say.

More episodes of gaming on the Xbox filled many hours of the past week and late nite playing and early morning rising left me rather drained so I skipped a few blogs but I guess that's OK cause it seems I only have a few devoted readers and the rest of the world is missing the chance to peek in on us here on goodoldbeanfarm.

Then yesterday we had a visit from Alice’s cousin from the cape. Cape Cod that is in Massachusetts. He Brought his wife Theresa who we met for the first time although She and Alice Mary have been in touch by email for quite a while.

006

This is Theresa and here is Joe

007

He and Alice were very happy to get together it has been seven years since Joe’s last visit to the goodoldbeanfarm .

I was in charge of the picture taking and Alice will most likely be disappointed that I only got a few

009 But

I even got one of Theresa getting one.

010

Speaking of pictures here is one I got on the way to the store the other day.

004 This was such a pretty tree I just had to stop and get a picture of it.

Well that is just about a wrap for today so how about the little quote for today……

I am here simply to make you alert and aware. That is, to be here now - with all the insecurity that life is; with all the uncertainty that life is; with all the danger that life is.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh quotes

That kinda covers my thoughts too so be not afraid for you are more than welcome to come on back tomorrow for more goodoldbeanblogging.
